JR Isham is an award-winning insurance agent providing coverage for individuals, families, and businesses across Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. But before he started his career as a successful State Farm insurance agent, he was a Volunteer... at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville! After graduating, he went on to get another degree, this time at Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC in 2006. From 2006- 2015, he spent time as a Family Pastor and in Financial Services for the Regions. Then in 2017, he moved his family to Chattanooga for the opportunity to open the doors of his State Farm agency off Shallowford Rd & Hickory Valley Rd.

In his very first year of business, JR & his team finished top 15 among all new agents across the country & then in both 2018 & 2019, they were honored to receive the State Farm Chairman's Club Award recognizing them as one of the top 2% of all 19,000 State Farm Agents across the country. Furthermore, they were also recognized locally by the Chattanooga Times Free Press as the top insurance agent in the city of Chattanooga for five years in a row from 2018-2023. Today, he and his team have grown their agency to become the leading agency in Chattanooga by helping protect their customers with the policies they need.

JR’s philosophy for business is simple: Put the customer first and treat them as family. This mantra is what has led JR to employ more team members than any other agent in Chattanooga. He believes that his team should be available to help customers and ensure they get the coverage that suits their specific needs.

With his growing business, you can imagine JR’s a busy guy. But he still finds time to enjoy his hobbies, like spending time with his high school sweetheart and his three kids on the lake or enjoying their family farm. He also love exploring all things adventure that the Chattanooga area has to offer. He loves hiking, sports, and enjoying all the local restaurants as well. His favorite thing about our community is the spirit & pride that his fellow local small business owners have in supporting one another throughout their journeys.
